Most graduates of English/English (teacher) majors are employed in foreign enterprises, central enterprises, government departments, primary and secondary schools, well-known education and training institutions and foreign trade companies. The overall rate of professional advancement (going abroad) in this major is about 30%. Graduates mostly enter the universities in domestic and overseas, such as the University of Edinburgh, the University of Leeds, New York University, the University of Queensland and Peking University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai Foreign Studies University, Guangzhou Foreign Studies University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, etc.
The Japanese major focuses on cultivating professional and compound talents with strong cross-cultural communication skills, thinking abilities, and innovation capabilities, who also have a solid foundation in Japanese language and literature, profound humanistic background, strong comprehensive Japanese skills, mastery of Japanese-related professional knowledge and adapt to the needs of China’s cultural exchange with Japan, national and local economic and social development, various foreign-related industries, Japanese education and academic research. We have constructed a training program combining small class teaching with elite education. The graduates of the Japanese major are mainly engaged in related work in foreign affairs departments, Japanese-funded enterprises, trade organizations with Japan, and relevant departments in Japan. In the past three years, the postgraduate entrance examination rate of Japanese major has exceeded 20%, and 15% of the students have been promoted to prestigious Japanese universities for master’s and doctor’s degrees.
The German major aims to cultivate compound German professional talents with broad international vision, high humanistic quality, good comprehensive quality, solid basic skills and strong professional ability, mastery of German language and literature, national conditions and cultural knowledge. They have the language application ability, cross-cultural communication ability, thinking and innovation ability and are able to adapt to China's foreign exchange, national and local economic and social development and language service needs of various German related industries. The graduates of the German major are mainly employed in German-funded enterprises, trade institutions with Germany, primary and secondary schools, well-known education and training institutions and foreign trade companies. Some graduates have been admitted to Peking University and Tongji University for master's degree. This major adheres to open school running and has established student visiting or degree programs with many foreign universities, such as Duale Hochschule Baden-Wüerttemberg Stuttgart, the Aachen University of Applied Sciences, University of Applied Sciences Westküste, Uniwersytet Szczeciński, Fachhochschule des Mittelstands, etc.
